Outright Case Study


The Problem


Small business bookkeeping app Outright (now GoDaddy Online Bookkeeping) enjoyed a high amount of monthly active users (MAU) during peak tax times, but that tapered off after April 15th.

They were looking for a way to keep customers engaged with the brand and logging in between April 15th and a big announcement in Q3. 

The Solution


I created and implemented a 6-week “Spring Clean Your Small Business Finances” email course for Outright users. Having just dealt with their small business taxes, the promise of helping them get organized so tax time is easier next year hit a particular customer pain point. This resulted in over 1100 subscribers, and never less than a 40% open rate. The first two emails – the most substantive in terms of logging into Outright, had 13.7% and 11.9% click-thru rates, respectively.
